Programme Description
The aim of the programme is to promote relations between participating countries and Germany, to strengthen democratic will and tolerance, to deepen an understanding of cultural diversity and to safeguard a peaceful living together in the world.
The scholarship is worth a monthly amount of 700 EUR and provides for free accommodation as well as health-, accident- and liability insurances. Moreover, costs for the journey to Berlin and back are reimbursed.
The President of the Bundestag is the patron of the scholarship, which is awarded by the Bundestag together with three of Berlin's higher-education institutions: the Freie Universität, the Humboldt Universität and the Technische Universität.
Target Group
At the moment the following countries participate in the programme: Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Malaysia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Namibia, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Palestinian Territories, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, the United States and Uzbekistan

Exception: The German-French Parliamentary Scholarships start on 1 October and end on 31 July every year.
